Something Strangely Familiar to screen at the 2012 AFI Fest in Los Angeles
It is with great excitement that filmmaker aAron munson and producer Trevor Anderson will be accompanying the film for its US premiere at AFI FEST, taking place November 1 - 8.
Something Strangely Familiar is an apocalypse in ink, soap, and 35mm film, shot in high definition video. Directed by aAron munson, produced by Trevor Anderson and aAron munson, with original music composed and performed by Clayton Alpha.
AFI FEST presented by Audi takes place each fall in Hollywood, California. The American Film Institute's annual celebration of international cinema from modern masters and emerging filmmakers, AFI FEST features nightly red-carpet galas, special screenings, conversations and tributes. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognizes AFI FEST as a qualifying festival for the Short Films category of the annual Academy Awards, and AFI FEST is still the only film festival in the United States to hold the prestigious FIAPF accreditation, assuring a high standard of quality and reliability for the international film community. AFI FEST is Los Angeles' longest running international film festival and has been bringing the best in world cinema to the film capital of the world since its launch as FILMEX in 1971.
This year the Guest Artistic Director of AFI FEST is director and screenwriter Bernardo Bertolucci ("Last Tango in Paris", "The Dreamers"). Last year's Guest Artistic Director was Pedro Almodóvar, and David Lynch held the role in 2010.
