Another favorite from Isachsen 1970. Shooting some 8mm from the Bombardier snowmobile. One of my favorite photos so far. Much more to come in the new year.

A unique perspective on Hallows Eve, Halloweeniors follows a group of Edmonton Strathcona seniors as they celebrate the day of the dead in costume. While exploring their memories and thoughts, the film provides proof that this eerie holiday is not just for the kids.
Since 1976, the Senior Citizens Opportunity Neighbourhood Association (SCONA ) has been keeping seniors active in the community, supported in their attempts to remain living independently in their own homes, and leading active, happy lives.
A brief Q & A, live music, and reception will follow the film.
Free admission for seniors.

Roll 12 - home
Bye bye Kodachrome ... I'll miss you.
Congratulations Dad, on your retirement after 32 years of keeping an eye on the weather for us.
The above photo was taken by him while he worked on the DEW line in the mid 70's, early on in his career with Environement Canada.
Taken by my father the night before the tornado of July 31, 1987. The photo was taken from the 8th floor of our hotel window. We moved into our home in Millwoods the next day, and consequently had to flee from the twister.
The image of this skyline is one of my most vivd memories. It seems to have warned of things to come.
The photo is unaltered.

Currently in pre-production on an online documentary with the National Film Board. It involves exploring the history of the arctic weather station "Isachsen" that my father worked at from 1974 -75. More to come.
